Reference Works of the Museums of Madeira - Palácio Nacional da Ajuda

Commissioned by Francisco Clode de Sousa, Director of Museum Services of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs, the exhibition brought together works by Museums or para-museological bodies of the Autonomous Region of Madeira: the Funchal Museum of Sacred Art; the Quinta das Cruzes Museum; the Frederico de Freitas House-Museum; the Henrique and Francisco Franco Museum; the Sugar City Museum; the IvBAM Museological Centre, "Vicentes" Photography Museum, and the Columbus House Museum of Porto Santo.
The objective of this exhibition was to create a dialogue between works of art and present a temporal evolution of almost 600 years of history, of copies found in the collections of the respective institutions involved, which were symbolic of the times they represent. This project was included in the PROJECT MUSEUMAC - Network of Madeira-Azores-Canary Museums, of the Community initiative programme INTERREG III B Azores- Madeira-Canary Islands, inserted in axis 4 of the Valorisation and Sustainable Management of Cultural Heritage, which ran from 2006 to 2008.
