A PALM BRANCH FOR PALM
SUNDAY APRIL, 2ND, 2022
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week and recalls Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The reception was marked by the people with olive branches and palm leaves, symbols that continue to be used in the celebration of this moment, in which the palm leaves receive elaborate decorative effects, popularly known as “palmitos”.

The MASF sought to mark Easter 2022 with a workshop visit on the morning of April 2, an action that sought to interpret Christian spirituality and rituals at the intersection of ethnography, ethnobotany, religion and sacred art.

The first part consisted of a guided tour of the museum's collections, focusing on the iconography of the cross. The second part consisted of holding a palmito workshop where each participant learned the process and made their own palmito.
